LINK /DEF

This option names a module definition file.

Syntax

/def:filename

The required filename argument consists of everything after the colon.

The /def option is for the command line only. It is not valid as a directive in an object file.

Behaviour

This option is not so much a LINK option as a LIB option. However, LINK may need to run LIB to generate an import library and export file. Then the /def for LINK becomes /def for LIB (with filename in double-quotes).

The module definition file counts as an input file for the purpose of test-case reproduction.
